COVID-19 pandemic has globally influenced the increase of gender-based violence. Restrictive movement measures, especially those in place in reception centers for migrants, asylum-seekers and refugees, increase the possibility of occurrence of gender-based violence.
Using the framework of the current UN Women Bosnia and Herzegovina campaign “Turn off violence against women and girls”, conducted as part of the global 16 Days of Activism, UN Women, UNFPA Bosnia and Herzegovina and UNHCR, with its implementing partner BHWI, ensured availability of preventive messaging through posters translated in six key languages.
The posters are placed throughout the week across eight reception centers and other relevant places in Bosnia and Herzegovina and they clearly point out that violence should never be tolerated and should always be reported to relevant personnel in the centers
