A mural, named “Together we can achieve everything”, is the latest artwork of one of the most sought after BiH visual artists painted in the Salakovac Refugee Reception Center on World Refugee Day.
This mural, which shares its name with this year’s World Refugee Day theme, was painted with the help of refugees and asylum-seekers in Salakovac, with the message that through tolerance, connecting and sharing values people can find strength to heal, rebuild and progress.
“The mural shows human differences through the form of abstract forms, but in all its diversity it shows and proves that we need to strive to accept those differences and learn to live together,” said Druškić.
World Refugee Day, which is celebrated on June 20 every year, promotes the strength and courage of people who have been forced to leave their homes due to conflict or persecution.
This day is an opportunity to show empathy and understanding for their adversities and recognize how endurance they renew their lives with.
This project was implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of BiH and the UN Agency for Refugees – UNHCR with the support of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Women’s Initiative Foundation.
