UNHCR is an essential partner in our commitment to protect the rights and well-being of refugees and displaced people as a priority of our Community Investment Program. We proudly support UNHCR in its intense efforts to improve lives of people forced to flee their homes worldwide.

About the partnership

Since: 2020

Location: Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Chile, Ethiopia, Greece, Poland, Rwanda, Slovakia, South Sudan, Spain, Turkey, Uganda and Ukraine.

At the start of 2020, Inditex, one of the world’s largest fashion retailers and owner of brands such as Zara and Massimo Dutti, partnered with UNHCR to provide clothing and other items to people who have been forced to flee their homes.

Through this partnership, thousands of women, men and children are receiving clothing, shoes and other home products which help bring comfort and warmth. Additionally, it allows refugee families to use money previously set aside for clothing on other necessities such as food or education.

The joint vision for the partnership will see the continued support for people forced to flee with an annual donation of 2 million garments per year to refugees and internally displaced people.
