Pinky Ghelani
Pinky Ghelani is a Kenyan media personality and advocate for dignity, empowerment, and inclusion. She has been a high profile supporter for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, since 2017, using her voice to shine a spotlight on the strength and resilience of refugee women and girls.

In 2019, she returned to Kakuma, this time focusing on supporting women through storytelling and dignity-centered engagement. Her experiences in the field inspired the launch of The Sustainable Livelihoods Initiative, designed to amplify the potential of refugee women through skills and visibility.
She has played a prominent role in UNHCR’s public advocacy, including:
- hosting Kenya’s World Refugee Day virtual event in 2020
- leading community engagement events
- supporting the LuQuLuQu “Party of One” COVID-19 campaign.
In 2023, she joined the #BongaForLife campaign, raising funds and awareness for displaced women and girls, and participated in the “Share Your Light” Diwali campaign, encouraging solidarity through giving.
Across every platform, whether on-air, online, or in-person, Pinky brings warmth, authenticity, and a deep belief in the power of storytelling to connect and uplift. Her advocacy continues to remind the world that when women are supported, communities thrive.
