Life for Iraqi refugees increasingly desperate

More than 4.5 million Iraqis have been uprooted by the crisis in their country. More than 2.5 million of them are displaced within Iraq, while over 2 million have found refuge abroad, including 1.4 million in Syria and some half-a-million in Jordan. Life is getting increasingly desperate for these refugees as they run out of resources and, in some cases, overstay their visas.

Democratic Republic of the Congo: Education for the few

The violence in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo has caused more than 1 million people to flee their homes, including huge numbers of children. Efforts to make sure the displaced youngsters continue to receive an education face huge challenges.

A Floating Clinic for Refugees

Medical care is often a luxury that few refugees can afford or access. A new floating clinic launched by local authorities and UNHCR will now bring health care to refugees and locals in a remote corner of Ecuador.
