World Refugee Day, 20 June 2004
To raise awareness among the media and the public at large, UNHCR will provide the local media with a press release and interviews. The video, "To be a refugee", will be shown. A roundtable on key refugee issues will be organised with the participation of government officials and representatives of NGOs.
A book of poems and stories by refugees will be published. UNHCR will invite governmental officials and the media to a promotional event. The agency will also make a speech about key refugee issues in the Republic of Macedonia.
An exhibition of drawings by refugees will be organised and football games between refugees, UNHCR, local authorities and the local population will take place in refugee-hosting towns.
