Women on the Move Awards 2016 winners celebrate at London's Southbank Centre

Nominations are now open for the Women on the Move Award 2017. Do you know a woman who should be celebrated for their outstanding contribution to the community?

The Women on the Move Awards celebrate refugee and migrant women who have done exceptional work towards women's empowerment and integration. These women have managed not only to build a new life for themselves and their families, but also to support and inspire communities across the UK.

The awards take place at the Women of the World festival at London’s Southbank – the largest women's festival network in the world, involving over a million people across five continents.

Meet last year’s winners Mariam and Seada.

Nominations are now open! Nominate your champion in one of four categories:

Woman of the Year – recognising the outstanding contribution of refugee and migrant women.

Young Woman of the Year – celebrating the achievements of young women with a migrant or refugee background who provide essential support and inspiring leadership.

Champion of the Year – recognising those who work to protect or promote the rights or needs of UK-based migrant and refugee women.

Sue Lloyd-Roberts award – celebrating the outstanding work of a journalist or producer whose reporting has promoted the protection needs of refugee, asylum-seeking or migrant women, either in the UK or abroad.
