Tanya Burr is an actress and influencer and has been supporting UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency since 2019. Tanya is committed to helping change the stigma around refugees and build empathy and understanding for the millions of forcibly displaced around the world.
In February 2020, Tanya visited Azraq camp in Jordan, home to over 35,000 Syrian refugees forced to flee their country due to conflict. Raising awareness of the situation via social media and in interviews, Tanya helped raise funds for UNHCR’s Winter Appeal.
During the Coronavirus pandemic Tanya featured in our fundraising appeal for basic hygiene items, like soap, to help UNHCR prepare and prevent the spread of the virus in refugee and host communities. Tanya frequently uses her voice and platform to support other UNHCR campaigns and projects including MADE51 and World Refugee Day.
