Educational Training Programme for Intercultural Mediators: Invitation for participation

The “Educational Training Programme for Intercultural Mediators” is inviting individuals in the Attica region (Athens) to express their interest to participate in the first training programme based on the Professional Profile for the profession of Intercultural Mediator certified by the competent national body.

The "Educational Training Programme for Intercultural Mediators" is an initiative led by the Ministry of Migration and Asylum, which is being implemented in partnership with UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, and in cooperation with the Scientific Institute of the General Confederation of Greek Workers (INE GSEE), the Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning Centre of the General Confederation of Professionals, Craftsmen and Merchants of Greece (KEK GSEVEE - KDVM) and METAdrasi, in line with the National Integration Strategy.

This training aims to lead to the specific certification which not only defines crucial functions, knowledge, skills, and abilities for Intercultural Mediators but also serves as a foundation for developing professional training programs.

Deadline for applications: 20 January 2024

Eligibility Criteria:

• Proven knowledge of the Greek language (at least B2 level)
• Proficiency (at least B2 level) in one of the following languages: Arabic, Farsi/Dari, Urdu/Hindi/Punjabi, Russian, Ukrainian, French.
• Related professional experience of at least 12 months as intercultural mediators or/and interpreters.
