Repatriation from Thailand to Cambodia

This is a summary of what was said by UNHCR spokesperson – to whom quoted text may be attributed – at today's press briefing at the Palais des Nations in Geneva.

UNHCR assisted a further 835 Cambodians to return to Cambodia today from Phu Noi camp in Sisaket Province. Nearly 3,000 refugees have repatriated from this camp in the past two weeks (precisely: 2,941 persons since 12 January).

UNHCR has helped a total of 13,452 Cambodians to repatriate voluntarily from camps in Thailand since October 1997.
