World Refugee Day 2003 National Activity Plan: Zambia

On June 13, the Minister of Home Affairs will launch Refugee Awareness Week.

A UNHCR film about refugee youth will be broadcast on national television channel on June 14 or 15. A multicultural performance will take place in Lusaka on June 16. The government, NGOs and UNHCR will set up booths to display panels and other items.

A group of journalists will travel to Meheba refugee settlement to write in-depth features about refugee youth.

UNHCR will conduct an outreach project to raise awareness on refugee issues among national students in government and private schools.
