World Refugee Day 2004 National Activity Plan: Lebanon

On 20 June, UNHCR World Refugee Day spots will be broadcast on the local TV stations. Two newspapers, The Al Balad daily and The Daily Star, will devote a special page to World Refugee Day in their 20 June edition. Various articles on refugee issues and refugees' testimonies will be published. A TV programme on TeleLiban will be dedicated to World Refugee Day, including an interview of the UNHCR Representative and a documentary on UNHCR's activities.

On 18 June, UNHCR, in collaboration with its implementing partner MECC, will organise a reception to celebrate World Refugee Day and to inaugurate the newly opened Refugee Community Centre. On this occasion, UNHCR will display and sell arts and crafts by refugees and other material. The benefits will help to develop the Refugee Community Centre.
