The report provides an overview of UNHCR’s Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programmes in 2025. It highlights key achievements in UNHCR's global efforts to ensure lifesaving access to water, sanitation and hygiene services to refugees and the surrounding communities.
The UNHCR WASH Manual (8th Edition, 2026) is the result of an open and collaborative process with WASH actors who have active programmes supporting refugees. It has been written primarily for use by UNHCR staff, WASH actors, national governmental authorities, emergency response coordinating bodies, contingency planners, and programme evaluators, and is a useful reference for any individuals or organisations involved in providing WASH services in refugee settings.
This report on the 2025 ‘From Access to Transformation’ Higher Education Linked Event (in association with the 2025 GRF Progress Review) highlights key insights from panel discussions and participants, captures illustrative quotes and case studies to inform advocacy, and outlines priority actions UNHCR will continue to advance in 2026.
