World Refugee Day 2004 National Activity Plan: Brazil

In Brasilia, there will be a seminar on "Asylum and Human Rights" at the University of Brasilia, and another one on "Migration, Asylum & Human Rights" at the Cultural Centre of Brasilia.

In Rio de Janeiro, a health fair will take place to raise refugees awareness on various aspects related to health care.

In São Paulo, UNHCR Brazil, Caritas São Paulo and SESC will organise an event involving refugees, government and civil society representatives. New services for refugees will be launched, and partners will be awarded recognition for their work on behalf of refugees.

A Brazilian company will stage the play, "Tourists & Refugees" which deals with the theme of being uprooted in its different forms.
