A WRD media campaign, dubbed "Unheard Voices of Refugee Children," focused on the education problems of refugee children in China. China Daily, the official English-language newspaper, ran a feature on the issue.
BQ Weekly published two pages of photos and a review on the global refugee situation over the past year. China Ethnic News held a programme on protection of refugees.
A stall was placed in Hong Kong's central business district on 22 June to help raise awareness about refugee issues and funds for UNHCR's operations. "Einstein was a Refugee" t-shirts and UNHCR "Hope" wristbands were sold and information packets and leaflets distributed.
A 30-second World Refugee Day video message was posted on Sina.com, the most recognized internet brand name in China. A "Fun Day for UNHCR" was organized at Hong Kong's Ocean Park for 46 refugee children on 22 June.
