World Refugee Day 2007 National Activities: Sri Lanka

With 2007 designated as the national year for drama, the Sunera Foundation's Butterflies Theatre Group presented a special performance to mark World Refugee Day. The drama was staged on 28 June and featured people displaced by the Indian Ocean tsunami of 2004.

On 29 June, an exhibition of images by four leading photographers based on the theme, "Right to Respect and Dignity," opened at the Barefoot Gallery in Colombo. It was followed by a screening of "Quest," a multi-media exhibition of artwork which explores the ravages of war in Sri Lanka and the tsunami aftermath.
