CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

28 Apr 2025

UNHCR MALTA is requesting Project Proposals from Refugee Led Organizations.
© Project are to be implemented between 1st of June 2025 till 31st December 2025.

This call for Expression of Interest is available for Refugee-Led and Community-led Organizations which comply with the definition of RLO above and respond to the needs of refugee communities in Malta. Organizations serving asylum-seekers, refugees and temporary protection holders are encouraged to participate.

Project proposals may relate to, but do not have to be limited, the following priority areas:

Priority 1: Skills development and self-reliance: Developing the skills and competences of refugees is crucial for engaging them to further education and training opportunities, while strengthening their self-reliance in Malta. With the right training and education, refugees can build independent lives, reduce reliance on aid, and participate actively in their communities. This priority includes training on life skills, first aid, language acquisition, financial and income generation skills such as budgeting, micro-enterprise, digital and financial literacy, communication, interpersonal skills, and others. The application must include a rationale on the needs of the particular target group, and how the skills building project would be addressing these needs.

Priority 2: Awareness raising, information sharing

Refugee-led and Community-led organizations can apply under this priority to fund activities that focus on raising the awareness of communities on a particular theme, such as mental health, access to integration services, educational opportunities for youth and other topics that may be relevant to those communities. This application must include a rationale on the need for this awareness and information by particular groups, and how the outreach programme would be meeting these needs.
