Book reading of Never Arrive

NeverArrive’ tells the story of Farah Abdullahi Abdi who was forced to flee Kenya because of persecution and stigma associated with sexual orientation. A book reading was held at Café Society on Thursday 9 June.

10 Jun 2016

The author is a young Somali refugee who came to Malta without family at only 16 years of age. The book is based on this journey, not only physical but also mental and emotional. It is a story about a person’s dreams and aspirations and the challenges of crossing borders and hardships in search of the future one deserves.

It is a story of self- acceptance and the will to risk it all for freedom. The often dangerous, brutal and terrifying eventsthat most asylum seekers experience are vividly portrayed in Never Arrive’.
