Over 6,100 families were supported through the project of the European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR) to resolve their housing problems. In all, 1,150 housing units were built according to the concept of Social Housing in Supportive Environment, over 1,050 construction material packages delivered, some 270 village houses purchased and 500 prefabricated houses installed in more than 80 municipalities Serbia-wide. UNHCR facilitated return of over 700 IDPs to Kosovo. In support to integration and employment, close to 6,000 refugees and IDPs from the region benefited from UNHCR’s Vocational trainings project between 2002 and 2017.

Since the start of the ERS, UNHCR and partners supported authorities with provision of shelter by securing over 1,100 additional accommodation places,  distributed over 500,000 non-food items, water and sanitation, some 200,000 medical services as well as counseling of thousands of new refugees and migrants on available options in Serbia,  registration, and access to basic services, including education, and solutions.
