Men

Men and boys can find themselves neglected or dismissed during times of displacement. Many face threats to their life and liberty, and are often most directly affected by armed conflicts.

At home, they risk forced recruitment into armies and militias, and can be threatened with detention and exploitation. In exile, life is no easier, and what self-esteem they have left may suffer as gender roles change and households become recipients of international assistance.

UNHCR works to restore hope to those who have lost so much. But we need your help.
