National partners
National partners
Entrusted with UNHCR’s name, logo, and brand, they mobilize resources and awareness on its behalf for forcibly displaced and stateless people.
Each national partner is established as an independent, non-governmental organization in the country where it operates. UNHCR’s eleven national partners are present in Argentina, Australia, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the United States of America.
Income from national partners
In 2025, UNHCR’s eleven national association partners transferred $364 million, with 72% provided as flexible funding. This amount includes $6.4 million from public sources. Together, they engaged over 1.6 million individual donors as well as corporations, foundations and philanthropists, delivering 51% of all private sector income and 24% of UNHCR’s unearmarked contributions. Five partners – España con ACNUR, Japan for UNHCR, USA for UNHCR, UNO-Flüchtlingshilfe, and Sweden for UNHCR – ranked among UNHCR’s top 20 donors.
A critical source of unearmarked funding
Flexible funding from national partners helps UNHCR act where needs are most urgent.
In 2025, they provided $177 million (24%) of all unearmarked contributions.
