World Refugee Day 2007 National Activities: Algeria

UNHCR marked World Refugee Day with various activities in Layoune Camp. On 23 June, an exhibition was staged of children's sweaters, scarves and ornaments made by female and disabled refugees.
In Algiers, a special WRD event was held in the head office of the El Moudjahid daily newspaper. The event started with a speech by the head of the Association of Algerian Women for Development. This was followed by addresses from Saharaoui refugee officials and UNHCR representatives.
