World Refugee Day 2007 National Activities: Kyrgyzstan

A multicultural WRD celebration was held in Bishkek on the site of a planned refugee reception centre. Speeches were given by UNHCR and government officials. Law students from five Bishkek universities took part in a simulated meeting of UNHCR's governing Executive Committee.
A WRD march was organized in the city of Osh. Some 30 students from the local law faculty joined refugees and staff of UNHCR and the State Committee on Migration and Employment (SCME) in the rally. A photo exhibition on refugee themes was held in the office of the SCME.
