Employment pathways

Employment pathways

Through labour mobility programmes, refugees can move to another country to work and apply their skills.

Employment pathways are driven by labour market needs and employers, and are rooted in the notion of refugee agency and self-reliance.

UNHCR is working closely with key States, partners, employers and other key actors to advance such employment opportunities globally in line with the Global Compact on Refugees objectives of expanding third-country solutions, easing pressure on host states and enhancing refugees' self-reliance.
