GENEVA - UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, and ANTA Group today launched a new partnership focused on empowering refugee and displaced children and youths through the power of education and sports.

The three-year partnership, ‘Moving for Change’, contributes to UNHCR’s work to improve access to primary education and teaching and learning resources, and to support child well-being, resilience and learning-readiness.

In pursuit of these goals, Moving for Change entails a donation of 1.2 million items of sportswear and a cash contribution of at least $1.5 million to support UNHCR sports and education programmes.

In displacement settings, sports and play-based initiatives have been used effectively to improve child protection, education and psychosocial well-being. Moving for Change aims to reach 300,000 children and youths who have been affected by displacement across the world by 2025.

The global partnership between UNHCR and ANTA Group will contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
