More Refugees Access Education and Employment Opportunities

The Eastern and Southern Africa Complementary Pathways newsletter highlights continued progress in expanding education and labour mobility opportunities for refugees across the region. By the end of 2025, nearly 8,200 refugees accessed various third country pathways both within the region and overseas.

Despite ongoing challenges, the momentum continues to grow in the region through new projects and pilots, stronger collaboration with strategic partners including governments, regional actors as well as higher education institutions such as universities. Engagement has also been increased with skilling entities to build on refugees’ capacities and talents. Together, these efforts are expanding opportunities and improving refugees’ access to complementary pathways.
