World Refugee Day 2003 National Activity Plan: Turkmenistan

An official ceremony will be held on World Refugee Day at the UN Building with the participation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, NGOs and UN agencies.
In Türkmenabat, young refugees will perform traditional music and dances at a folklore concert on June 18. Sport competitions will also be held, along with a charity lunch for refugees funded by voluntary contributions from local donors.
In Ashgabat, a folklore concert by refugee youth will be held on June 20. Refugee children will participate in a drawing competition, and there will be a charity lunch for refugees. UNHCR visibility items and handicrafts made by refugees will be on sale.
