"Ending Statelessness Together" Publication
The Ending Statelessness Together publication highlights the significant global progress achieved under UNHCR’s #IBelong campaign, launched in 2014 to end statelessness within a decade, with particular emphasis on achievements in the Asia-Pacific region. Through the leadership of governments, in partnership with civil society and other stakeholders, thousands of stateless people have acquired nationality, transforming not only individual lives but also those of future generations. The publication brings forward personal stories of individuals who were formerly stateless, alongside successful examples of countries addressing statelessness, including the Kyrgyz Republic and Turkmenistan, which became the first to resolve all known cases of statelessness on their territories. It also reflects the important role of partners and civil society in advancing solutions and supporting efforts to reduce and prevent statelessness.
