UNHCR high-profile supporters have demonstrated a commitment to our work by regularly using their influence, dedication, and hard work to raise funds, awareness, and advocate for refugees.

Kinda Alloush

Kinda is a Syrian actress, known for her roles in Syrian and Egyptian drama and cinema, and has been a supporter of UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency since 2016.

In 2016 Kinda was featured in an episode of UNHCR’s Ramadan show Basmet Amal on MBC TV.

Since then, Kinda has supported UNHCR’s winter appeal campaigns and Ramadan campaigns. In 2019, she joined refugee families in an iftar and in 2020 she took part in More than Just a Meal Campaign in Ramadan.

Omar Nour

Omar Nour is the first Egyptian professional triathlete in history. He represents his country on the Olympic triathlon circuit and is the fastest Arabic-speaking triathlete in the world.

He has been supporting the work of UNHCR in Egypt and has been advocating for the refugee cause since 2018.

Nour has a triple major and pre-med degree from John Hopkins University. He, with Omar Samra, was featured in Beyond the Raging Sea documentary to tell their story with the world’s toughest row across the Atlantic, that they had experienced.

Omar Samra

Omar Samra is an adventurer, entrepreneur, and future astronaut. He’s the first Egyptian to climb Mount Everest, the 7 Summits, and ski to both the North and South Pole.

Omar has been a key supporter to UNHCR and its work in Egypt since 2018 and was featured in Beyond the Raging Sea with Omar Nour to raise awareness on the cause of refugees.

Samra holds a degree in Economics from the American University in Cairo and an MBA from London Business School in Entrepreneurship.
