UNHCR Regional Consultations with NGOs in Europe 2025

In collaboration with the International Council of Voluntary Agencies (ICVA), the UNHCR Regional Bureau for Europe is organizing the 2025 Regional Consultations with NGOs on 23-24 September 2025 at UNHCR's Headquarters in Geneva.
The Consultations in Europe will pursue the following objectives:
Exchange and agree on regional UNHCR-NGOs and civil society strategic priorities for the topics discussed, taking into consideration the specific challenges and opportunities of the region.
Develop regional-specific recommendations that promote access to asylum and community-based protection, targeting UNHCR, NGOs or other stakeholders in the region.
Mobilize and inform partners at regional level in view of the upcoming High-Level Officials Meeting.
Building on existing Regional Dialogues launched in July 2020, as well as previous Regional and Global NGO Consultations held in the past years, these discussions will create a space for dialogue centered around the following topics:
Safeguarding the right to seek asylum
Promoting community-based protection to support sustainable responses
These Consultations are open to NGOs headquartered in Europe, with regional, national, and/or local geographical coverage. The current plan is to hold them in-person at UNHCR's Headquarters in Geneva but we will also explore online/hybrid modalities.
We kindly ask that NGOs express interest here and indicate whether they will attend in-person or online. This webpage will be updated with further information as it becomes available.
