UNHCR’s official guide to the Refugee Employment Platform (REP)

This second edition of UNHCR’s Refugee Employment Platform (REP) manual is informed by key lessons learned and milestones achieved since the release of the first version in 2023, including support to over 7 000 companies and 60 000 refugees, insights from regional-level events with the private sector, and consultations with refugees on platform effectiveness. It provides updated guidance for implementing, scaling, and enhancing national REPs, featuring a new multi-year roadmap and a best-practice checklist illustrated with examples from 10 platforms currently operating across Europe.

Who is eligible to apply for vacancies on the platforms?

Refugees (temporary protection holders, subsidiary protection holders, beneficiaries of international protection, others in need of international protection), asylum seekers with the right to work, people displaced within their own countries and stateless people.

Can national REPs link me with international work opportunities?

Can REPs provide support with work visa applications to other countries?

No. The objective of a REP is to assist a refugee to locate the best possible work opportunity in the country where they have been granted refugee status.
