UNHCR supports Moldova’s National Crisis Management Centre
Chisinau, 05.01.2026 — The United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) in Moldova supported the National Crisis Management Centre of the Republic of Moldova with functional IT equipment, office furniture and a vehicle, reinforcing its commitment to strengthening the country’s emergency preparedness and response capacities.
This support underscores the strong partnership between UNHCR and the Government of Moldova in ensuring timely and coordinated assistance to populations affected by crises. Established in September 2025, the National Crisis Management Centre serves as the central authority for coordinating the response of government institutions to crises, including natural disasters, pandemics and cyberattacks. Its mandate covers prevention, preparedness, response and recovery, helping ensure faster and better-organized support to communities during critical situations.
This initiative forms part of UNHCR’s broader efforts to support Moldova in enhancing resilience and preparedness in the face of growing challenges, including extreme weather events and other complex crises.
