UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, welcomes today’s news that 49 rescued refugees and migrants on board the Sea Watch 3 and Albrecht Penck NGO vessels have been safely disembarked in Malta.
UNHCR welcomes the decision of the Government of Malta to disembark on humanitarian grounds refugees and migrants rescued by the fishing vessel Nuestra Madre de Loreto.
This is a positive step in safeguarding the rights of individuals and towards a more inclusive society.
A UNHCR conference on Refugees & Employment engaged participants in meaningful discussion on various challenges facing refugees in the employment sector, as well as ways in which they can be overcome.
