- Following the success of last year's Refugee Film Festival, it will take place again this year. The refugee film week will start on Wednesday 14 June with the screening of The Refugee All Stars at the French Cultural Centre, followed by a reception. During the week, UNHCR will screen about twenty films, some on Cambodia, some translated into Khmer, some in the presence of the protagonists or the director. All films are free of charge. The week will end on 20 June.
- A press release was issued on Tuesday 13 June 2006 informing the public and media of the launch of the Refugee Film Week.
- The evening of 20 June will mark the opening night of a month long exhibition of a Swiss photographer: Marti Mueller of the photos she took while in a Cambodian refugee camp in Thailand in 1979-1980. The exhibition will take place at Popil Photo Gallery. The photographer will be in Phnom Penh for a few weeks to promote the event.
