Qatar’s strong partnership with UNHCR continues to show steady growth. Through financial contributions and engagement, Qatar provides vital support, both for emergency programming and ensuring UNHCR can provide essential services and meet the needs of displaced people. Qatar’s multi-year and unearmarked contributions of USD 16 million during 2019 and 2020 and an additional USD 8 million in 2021 and 2022 provided UNHCR with a predictable and flexible source of funding, enabling UNHCR to support those in greatest need and to kick-start emergency responses.

With a focus on education, shelter, health, livelihoods, and cash assistance, Qatar enables continued humanitarian response worldwide, particularly in the Middle East and North Africa, and Asia and the Pacific regions. UNHCR has a long-standing strategic relationship with the State of Qatar and its entities, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Culture and Sports, Ministry of Justice, National Human Rights Committee, Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities, Qatar Fund for Development, Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy.
