Qatar’s strong partnership with UNHCR continues to provide assistance and hope to thousands forced to flee. Through financial contributions and engagement, Qatar provides vital support, both for emergency response and programme activities, ensuring UNHCR can provide essential services and meet the needs of displaced people. Qatar’s multi-year and unearmarked contributions have provided UNHCR with a predictable and flexible source of funding since 2019, enabling UNHCR to support those in greatest need and kick-start emergency responses around the world.
With a focus on education, shelter, health, livelihoods, cash assistance and sustainable programmes, Qatar enables continued humanitarian response worldwide. UNHCR has a long-standing strategic relationship with the State of Qatar and its entities, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, Qatar Fund for Development, Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities and the National Human Rights Committee.
