Wannasingh Prasertkul has supported UNHCR since 2016, using storytelling to help raise awareness and mobilize support for refugees and forcibly displaced people.
With more than a decade of experience, he has documented the experiences of people forced to flee through field-based work and visual storytelling, bringing their perspectives to wider audiences and encouraging public engagement in Thailand and beyond.
Since partnering with UNHCR, Wannasingh has supported a range of initiatives, including “Namjai for Refugees” campaign, as well as climate and emergency response efforts and global advocacy—helping to promote a culture of giving and mobilizing support from the public, private sector, and media.
As an advocate, he highlights the importance of protecting people forced to flee:
“Refugees and displaced people are among those most affected by conflicts. Supporting their protection and assistance is essential.”
His field work includes visits to refugee communities in Mae Hong Son, Thailand (2017) and displaced people in Mozambique (2023), where he documented the challenges faced by familiesforced to flee. Through his work, he continues to contribute to greater public understanding of displacement and humanitarian response.
