About Nomzamo
Her commitment began with visits to refugee communities in Malawi in 2017, followed by Kenya in 2018, and South Sudan, where she engaged deeply with displaced women, children and people living with disabilities. Nomzamo was also a speaker at TEDxKakuma Camp in June 2018, where she shared powerful reflections on resilience and the need to change the narrative on refugees.
In 2021, she supported the 36 Million Solutions: Africa Private Sector Forum on Displacement held in Kigali, Rwanda, lending her voice to advocate for greater private sector investment in refugee inclusion across the continent.
In 2024, she hosted the prestigious Nansen Refugee Award ceremony, celebrating five female humanitarians, and has delivered remarks on global stages including the SDG (Sustainable development goals) Moment event of the United Nations. Throughout the COVID‑19 pandemic, Nomzamo supported UNHCR’s LuQuLuQu emergency response through public engagement and fundraising campaigns in Africa.
With a voice rooted in empathy and cultural storytelling, Nomzamo continues to amplify refugee stories from camp visits to global forums, championing dignity, inclusion, and hope.
