World Refugee Day 2004 National Activity Plan: Central African Republic

From 20 May to 20 June, spots on the dignity and security of refugees in the Central African Republic will be broadcast on TVCA.

Awareness TV and radio programmes will broadcast on 3, 10 and 17 June including sketches, spots, roundtable discussions, and a special report on refugees. The programme will continue after World Refugee Day, once a week. In June, an awareness programme will be included in primary schools to teach children about refugee issues.

UNHCR will also organise an awareness campaign including streamers, T-shirts with slogans, and sketches by local artists.

An exhibition and sale of products made by urban refugees and refugees from Molangue and Mboki camps will be set up on 19 June. The exhibition will include art, hand-crafted furniture, food and clothes.
