UNHCR Records of the Central Registry

The Central Registry was responsible for the opening and routing of correspondence and for the filing of working papers and official records from 1951 to 1994. These records document the full range of UNHCR activities for nearly a half a century and as such provide an indispensable introduction to the work of the organization.

Subgroup: General Series: Relations with United Nations bodies Registry Code: 1/3 (Registry, 1951-1970) Dates: 05-1968/07-1973 Extent: 68 cm of textual records Scope: Series consists of contact with and information from various United Nations bodies, including the Standing Inter-Agency Consultation Unit (assistance to East Pakistani refugees), the Inter-Agency Working Group on Relief Assistance to the Southern Region (relief to Southern Sudan), the Special Sahelian Office (assistance to the Sudano-Sahelian region), the United Nations Development Programme, the UN Council for Namibia, and the United Nations Relief Operations Dacca (UNROD). Series also includes some correspondence with UN Secretaries-General. Date Notes: Most of the series is missing.
