Working together to build better futures for people forced to flee

UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, takes the lead in protecting people forced to flee wars and persecution around the world, providing life-saving aid including shelter, food and water to ensure their basic safety, rights and dignity. With 17,878 women and men working in 132 countries, we work tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of 82.4 million forcibly displaced people worldwide.

Our dedicated and professional staff work around the clock in roles including legal protection, community services, public affairs, health and more. Despite the challenges they can face, our staff are proud to work for UNHCR and determined to make a positive impact.

Why a career with UNHCR?

Our dedicated staff work to protect and assist people fleeing conflict and persecution at a time when global forced displacement is at a record high. Disability inclusion

If you are a candidate living with a disability and face technical challenges during the recruitment process you can contact us here. Providing information to this email box is optional and will be treated strictly confidentially.

Examples for types of requests:

  • ‘I have applied for the HR Officer position advertised in Iran and I would like to let you know that I will need sign language interpretation for potential interviews.’
  • ‘I tried to apply for the Protection Officer position advertised on the website. I have a visual impairment so I would appreciate help with filling in the application form.’
  • ‘I have limited mobility and I want to apply for a position in Juba. Is the office wheelchair-friendly?’

Candidates living with disabilities will be assisted with relevant adjustments and will be assessed based on their experience, skills and education. They will not be given preference during the selection process by the reason of their health conditions.

Due to a large number of e-mails received, we will ONLY respond to queries related to applications that refer to specific job openings or talent pool profiles from candidates with disabilities.
