2 May 2005 The number of people fleeing insecurity in post-election Togo has risen to more than 16,500, some of them citing harassment by security forces. More than 2,000 have been moved to camps further inland in Benin, while those in Ghana are crossing back home to work in the daytime. -

UNHCR to start informing Liberian refugees on election process
20 Apr 2005 The UN refugee agency has welcomed the Liberian authorities' decision to extend by two weeks the voter registration period for Liberian refugees returning after May 21. An information campaign on election procedures will target Liberians displaced in the country and in the region.
