From May 30 to June 15, UNHCR took part in the annual Book Fair in Madrid. Its booth exhibited refugee photos as well as art works donated by celebrities to be auctioned in benefit of refugees. The event was graced by Queen Sofía.

On June 20, a ceremony was held at the Spanish Parliament in the presence of high-ranking government officials, parliamentarians, refugees, academics and NGOs. A photo exhibition on young refugees, "One day at a refugee camp", was held at the hall of the Parliament building for two weeks.
