UNHCR will organise an outdoor event for some than 1,000 people at the Moscow City Palace for Youth's Creativity in Moscow on 20 June. A fair of refugee communities will be held, as well as a concert with both refugee and local music bands. A theatre performance for children will be on, and a brass band will entertain the public throughout the festivities. UNHCR will distribute printed materials and some souvenirs including T-shirts with the UNHCR logo. A photo exhibition will also be set up by UNHCR.

Some 30,000 copies of the fly-cards devoted to World Refugee Day will be produced in Russian, with a special design, and distributed at 800 public spots in Moscow from 11 to 20 June.

In Vladikavkaz, North Ossetia, UNHCR will organise the "Living Together" exhibition of children's drawings on asphalt, bringing together 300 participants. The agency's staff will also visit and give presents to some 60 single elderly people, and organise visits to the cinema and the zoo for some 70 refugee children.

In Nazran, Ingushetia, a festival will be held for IDP children from Chechnya, as well as Dagestan, North Ossetia and Karachaevo-Cherkessia, at the Palace of Culture. Most vulnerable displaced children from Chechnya will be taken to Vladikavkaz (North Ossetia) for one day to a side-show park.

Interviews will be given on the radio, TV and to newspapers. A press release on World Refugee Day will be placed on the website jointly with the World Refugee Day leaflet and kit.

A radio programme, "New place of residence", on Radio of Russia will be devoted to World Refugee Day. The World Refugee Day spot will be broadcast by local TV channels throughout the week. A World Refugee Day web banner will be placed on the websites of the UNHCR partners and media.
