The Digital Hub of Treasury Solutions (DHoTS) is a collaborative treasury platform that connects over 150 banking and financial systems across 100+ countries, enabling secure, real-time financial transactions.
Designed to streamline financial operations across the United Nations system, this groundbreaking initiative, led by UNHCR, leverages technology to reduce costs, enhance security, and enable real-time access to financial systems.
DHoTS provides:
- Access to core treasury and banking infrastructure for the UN ecosystem and stakeholders through the UN System Financial Gateway.
- A dedicated Centre of Excellence in Geneva, supported by the Government of Switzerland, offering governance, participation, and innovation for all agencies.
- Integration of advanced technologies – AI, agentic AI, blockchain, and digital currencies – for secure, transparent, and future-proof financial operations.

Looking ahead
Project scale-up
15 agencies, including UNHCR, IOM, WMO, ICAO, OECD, UNDP and the 8 agencies they serve, have joined the project. UNICC has also joined and provides technological support, security and upgrades.
The next phase of the initiatives includes:
- Scaling up globally with access to local financial ecosystems and markets
- Integration with digitalisation and financial technology companies and major global banks
- Enhanced features for payment configuration, on–chain treasury management, and programmable implementation
UN Centre of Excellence in Geneva
The Government of Switzerland is providing support to UNHCR’s Digital Hub of Treasury Solutions to create a UN Centre of Excellence in Geneva.
The Centre will facilitate the UN System’s and its partners’ access to global financial ecosystems and markets, fostering collaboration to advance cutting-edge capabilities and technologies, reducing financial transaction costs and overall supporting the humanitarian sector’s preparedness and readiness for the delivery of emergency aid assistance and financial inclusion.
