Jakarta, 12 October 2025 — UNHCR Indonesia is honored to be recognized as a recipient of the prestigious Mohammad Syafei Award at the Temu Pendidik Nusantara XII (TPN XII) event. This award celebrates organizations that have demonstrated consistent commitment to improving the quality of education and strengthening sustainable learning ecosystems across Indonesia.
The award ceremony, held at Sekolah Cikal Lebak Bulus, brought together educators, organizations, and partners dedicated to advancing fair and inclusive education. UNHCR Indonesia’s efforts to support refugee children were highlighted as critical contributions to fostering a more inclusive education landscape in the country.
UNHCR believes education is a fundamental right for every child, including those displaced by conflict and crisis. Through close collaboration with local schools, communities, and stakeholders, UNHCR strives to ensure that refugee children have access to education in a safe, inclusive, and empowering learning environment.
“This award is a reminder that inclusive education is not a luxury, but a necessity. Together with our partners, we are committed to ensuring that every child—regardless of status—has the right to learn and thrive,” said Francis Teoh, Representative of UNHCR Indonesia.
The recognition received at TPN XII inspires UNHCR Indonesia to continue its mission to expand educational opportunities for refugees, support teachers with inclusive teaching approaches, and engage communities in creating sustainable learning spaces.
