UNHCR launches special appeal for Africa
UNHCR is issuing a special appeal, totalling just over US$14 million, to cover unforeseen new developments in seven African countries that have received little international attention. The countries concerned are Chad, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, the Central African Republic, Rwanda and Republic of the Congo. The problems covered include new displacement, serious flood damage to refugee camps, relocations of threatened refugee groups and - on a more positive note - two small repatriations.
