World Refugee Day 2004: Côte d'Ivoire

Sport activities such as football were organised with refugees and the host population in Tabou.
A ceremony also took place in Tabou, attended by government officials and local authorities. They all promised to continue their support for refugees.
A concert was organised to promote tolerance and awareness of the refugee situation. The musicians were appreciated and showed their support for refugees.
Refugees showed their talents through hand-made objects. They also performed skits on peaceful coexistence.
The UNHCR Representative was the guest of a television programme on 20 June on the current situation of refugees in the world. The national TV channel also broadcast the film, "UNHCR in action 2004".
