World Refugee Day 2004 National Activity Plan: Kyrgyzstan

On 16 June, UNHCR will hold a press conference on World Refugee Day and protection issues in Kyrgyzstan. The agency will also participate in a morning TV show on the national TV channel.
On 20 June, an outdoor multicultural celebration will take place in the area where most refugees live. A football match between a refugee and a local team will be organised, as well as "kuresh" matches. An exhibition will be held where traditional food prepared by refugee women will be offered.
From 14-20 June, the World Refugee Day UNHCR TV spot will be broadcast on local TV channels.
