Ms. Monica Sandri, UNHCR Representative
Monica Sandri is UNHCR Representative to the Armenia beginning September 2024. Previously, she served as served as UNHCR Representative in North Macedonia.During her 25-year career with UNHCR, Monica Sandri worked in multiple regions and duty stations located in Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America. Notably, she has served as the Head of Sub-Office in Chad, followed by serving as the Representative in Eritrea, Venezuela and North Macedonia.Ms. Sandri speaks Italian, English, French and Spanish.

Monica Sandri UNHCR Representative in Armenia
Prior to joining UNHCR in 1999, Monica Sandri served as Head of Mission and Regional Coordinator for Nuova Frontiera, an NGO operating in the South Caucasus region, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. She later joined the OSCE, where she was responsible for activities related to polling and elections for two years.
Ms. Sandri holds a Bachelor's degree in International Law and Economics from the University of Florence and a Master's degree in Philosophy. She also pursued studies in human rights and European law at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
She is married and has two children.
