Armenian Association of Social Workers
The Armenian Association of Social Workers (AASW) has prioritized improving the wellbeing of the population by strengthening the social protection and social welfare systems. The AASW works towards building a skilled social service workforce, piloting innovative service models, and enhancing the quality of social services based on human rights principles.
Main activities and services provided:
In response to the forced displacement of population, AASW has established Social Work Hubs in three communities to facilitate the psychosocial recovery and social integration of the displaced individuals. AASW enhances the resilience of displaced individuals and vulnerable populations in host communities through the following social services:
- Social counselling for individuals and families to address emotional and practical challenges.
- Psycho-social rehabilitation services to support mental health recovery and stability.
- Social work services tailored to the needs of displaced populations.
- Legal counselling to help individuals navigate legal issues related to their displacement.
- Promotion of social integration and community cohesion to foster harmony and inclusion.
- Socio-economic activation programmes designed to support economic independence and livelihoods.
- Information sessions to provide displaced individuals with guidance on available services and programmes.
- Community coordination meetings in cooperation with municipalities to optimize resource utilization and foster effective partnerships.
- Building the capacity of the social service workforce to enhance the quality and impact of services provided.
